Oil Reflection
1. The precision and blending of colors are my strong points. It really emphasizes the main points which are the umbrellas.
2. I think that if i had been more careful with the pencil marks on the canvas because it was you could see it under the yellow.
3. My theme is symbolism I suppose because the umbrellas are awesome looking and represent happiness. I chose happiness because i like bright and cheery things.
4. The umbrellas are definetly the points of emphasis. I made them stick out by repeating the same thing but making them look different with the colors.
5. Your eyes move throughout the painting with the first, second, and third umbrellas. The look at the umbrella farthest to the left and then the one in the middle and then the one going off the edge.
6. I learned that I need to slow down and not rush through it. I also learned that mistakes can be fixed and that I don't need to freak out.
7. I wanted it to be very precise and it was very planned. I knew that I wanted to do umbrellas but I did not know how many I wanted to do. I had orignally planned for the last umbrella to not go off the edge but I ended up liking it.
8. I think that this project was worth while because then you get to experience how oil paint works. I thought that the oil paint was hard to fix if you made a mistake but it was easy to blend. I think that Mr. Purdy should basically keep this project the same except more in class work time.
